Private Parking Appeals

Private parking tickets are not fines - they're contractual invoices. You have strong rights under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Appeals go to POPLA or IAS.

Council Parking PCNs

Council PCNs are issued under the Traffic Management Act 2004. You can make formal representations, and if rejected, appeal to the Traffic Penalty Tribunal (or London Tribunals in London).

Bus Lane Penalties

Bus lane fines are civil penalties. Key defences include: outside operating hours, permitted vehicle, signs not visible, or making a left turn.

Moving Traffic Violations

For yellow box junctions, you CAN stop in the box if turning right and waiting for oncoming traffic - this is a legal exception under TSRGD 2016.

Congestion & Emission Zone Charges
